Harmony ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Harmony mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal data when you use our App.
By using Harmony, you agree to the collection and use of your data as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Data We Collect
Data you provide
- First name — Used to personalize your experience within the App.
- Selfie photos — Used to analyze your skin tone and eye color for colorimetry purposes. Photos are sent securely to a third-party AI service (Anthropic) for analysis and are not stored on our servers. See Section 3 (Face Data) below for full details.
- Color preferences — Your answers during the onboarding questionnaire to determine your color season.
Data collected automatically
- Subscription status — Managed by Apple through RevenueCat to verify your subscription entitlement.
- Attribution data — Collected via AppsFlyer to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns (install source, in-app events).
- Device identifiers — IDFA (with your consent) for attribution purposes.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide and personalize the colorimetry analysis service.
- Save your profile and preferences for a seamless experience.
- Manage your subscription and verify access to premium features.
- Measure and optimize our advertising campaigns.
- Improve the App and fix technical issues.
3. Face Data
Harmony uses your device's front-facing camera or photo library to capture a single selfie during the onboarding process. This section explains in detail how we collect, use, share, and retain face data.
What face data we collect
From your selfie, we derive two categorical attributes only:
- Skin tone category — One of eight categories based on the Fitzpatrick scale (very fair, fair, light, light-medium, medium, medium-dark, dark, deep).
- Eye color category — One of eight categories (blue, green, hazel, light brown, dark brown, gray, amber, black).
We do not collect or derive any facial geometry, facial landmarks, depth maps, faceprints, or biometric identifiers. The app does not perform facial recognition or identity verification.
How we use face data
The selfie is used exclusively to determine your skin tone and eye color categories. These categories are then used by our colorimetry algorithm to identify your seasonal color palette (e.g., "True Spring," "Cool Winter") and provide personalized color recommendations for clothing and accessories. Face data is not used for advertising, tracking, facial recognition, or any purpose other than colorimetry analysis.
How face data is shared
Your selfie photo is transmitted securely via HTTPS to the Anthropic Claude API (api.anthropic.com) solely for the purpose of determining skin tone and eye color. Anthropic processes the image and returns the categorical results only. Per Anthropic's API data usage policy, images submitted via their commercial API are not used for model training and are not retained after processing. See the Anthropic Privacy Policy.
Face data is not shared with advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or any other third parties.
Where face data is stored
- Selfie photo file — Stored only on your device's local filesystem. The photo is never uploaded to our servers or any cloud storage.
- Derived categories (skin tone and eye color) — Stored in your user profile on our cloud database (Supabase) to provide the colorimetry service across sessions.
How long face data is retained
- Selfie photo — The photo is used solely for real-time analysis and is not permanently stored. The image file exists only in the device's temporary cache during the analysis session and is automatically removed by the operating system. We do not copy, archive, or back up the photo. The selfie is never stored on our servers.
- Anthropic API — Your image is processed in real-time and is not retained by Anthropic after the API response is returned.
- Derived categories (skin tone and eye color) — Retained in our database for a maximum of 3 years from your last use of the App, or until you request deletion, whichever comes first. We retain these categories for this specific period to allow you to return to the App and access your personalized color palette without needing to retake a selfie. You may request deletion of your profile and all associated data at any time by contacting us at support@harmonycolor.app, and your data will be removed within 30 days.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — Cloud database for storing your profile data (first name, color season, preferences). Supabase Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat — Subscription management and payment processing through Apple App Store. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
- AppsFlyer — Mobile attribution and analytics to measure advertising performance. AppsFlyer Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic API — AI-powered analysis of selfie photos for skin tone detection. Images are sent to Anthropic's API for processing and are not retained after analysis. Anthropic Privacy Policy.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your profile data is stored securely on Supabase servers. Selfie photos remain on your device and are never stored on our servers. When a selfie is analyzed, it is transmitted securely (HTTPS) to the Anthropic API for real-time processing and is not retained by Anthropic. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data.
6. Data Retention
We retain your profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete the App or request data deletion, your profile data will be removed within 30 days.
7. Your Rights
Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time.
- Request data portability.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@harmonycolor.app.
8. Children's Privacy
Harmony is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
